Service Manager - MTS Jerseyville

LOCATION: JERSEYVILLE, IL

ABOUT THE ROLE:
MTS Jerseyville is seeking a Service Manager to oversee our Agriculture and Construction Equipment Service Department. This role is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, managing repair and maintenance operations, and leading service personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee and enforce service department processes to maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Manage all repair and maintenance work for customer machines and MTS Jerseyville rolling stock.
• Supervise service department personnel, including scheduling and assigning tasks.
• Coordinate training and development opportunities for technicians.
• Maintain department operations, including uniforms, tools, supplies, and equipment.
• Handle customer relations and service invoicing processes.
• Oversee financial management of the service department.
• Review work orders for accuracy before customer billing.
• Generate service invoices and process transactions.
• Acquire new service business and provide accurate repair cost estimates.
• Manage warranty claim submissions with manufacturers to maximize credit.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety regulations and maintain knowledge of dealer equipment manufacturers and competitive products.
• Perform daily department opening and closing procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Experience: 3+ years in a service department, preferably with performance metrics experience.
Industry Knowledge: Off-road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment experience.
Technical Skills: Ability to operate vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostics.
Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required; vocational certification, military experience, or a 2-4-year degree preferred.
Management Experience: Supervisory experience preferred.

Additional Skills:
Business computer proficiency, data entry, work order management, Microsoft Office, professional communication, phone etiquette, time management, organizational skills, safety advocacy, and teamwork.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to bend, squat, or climb on equipment frequently.
• Lift at least 30 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods on slippery or uneven surfaces.
• Ability to sit in an office setting for extended periods.
• Occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Possible exposure to chemicals such as gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, kerosene, and cleaning solvents.
• Physical strength required for occasional heavy object manipulation (lifting equipment available).
• Must maintain a professional personal appearance.

Ag & Construction Equipment Salesperson

MTS in Jerseyville is searching for a new team member for our Ag and Construction Equipment Sales Staff. No previous sales experience necessary, we can provide training for the right person. Qualified applicants will posses a strong work ethic, good attitude and a willingness to learn and grow. A general knowledge or background of Ag equipment is preferred. Must be able to work independently, have good time management skills, and be able to make on the phone and in person sales calls to potential and current customers. Basic computer, email and phone skills also valid drivers license and a clean driving record will be required. Technician

PRIMARY LOCATION: JERSEYVILLE, IL
REPORTS TO: SERVICE MANAGER


RESPONSIBILITIES
• Repairs equipment
• Diagnoses equipment problems and determines repairs needed
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations
• Performs daily safety and maintenance checks

EXPERIENCE
• Hands on mechanical experience repairing equipment such as tractors, combines, seeders, sprayers, harvesters, and balers
• Background working on equipment brands such as New Holland, CASE IH and John Deere
• Certification/licensing preferred, qualifications are transferable to Canada.

KNOWLEDGE
• Agricultural and equipment safety
• Operation of agricultural equipment
• Equipment maintenance and storage procedures
• Workplace safety requirements and procedures
• Equipment cleaning standards and procedures

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Troubleshoot equipment to detect faults & malfunctions
• Determine extent of repair required
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance
• Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work

• Effective verbal and listening communications skills
